Funding The Ministry

The fees charged to people for camping and retreating do not cover all the costs.

Funding for LuWiSoMo comes from a combination of sources: fees paid by participants, grants from the South Wisconsin District and fraternal organizations such as Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, support from congregations, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Lutheran Laymen's League, and increasingly, generous gifts from individuals and families.  These gifts are LuWiSoMo's Annual Fund.

Over 20% of LuWiSoMo's operating funds come from Annual Fund gifts. If you have donated ANY amount of money to LuWiSoMo since January 1st, 2005, you have a chance to make your dollars go even further. If at least one person in your household is a Thrivent member, simply fill out and send back the Giving Plus form and camp will receive 50% more of what you have given. Also, for each form that is returned to us by November 28th, 2005 increases our chances of being the recipient of part of an $800,000 Challenge Grant given by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.  If you or your family are not Thrivent members, you can still help us out. Join the LuWiSoMo Society

The LuWiSoMo Society is an informal association of people who provide leadership through their financial support.  LuWiSoMo Society gifts, as part of the Annual Fund, are used to help keep fees reasonable, to give financial aid to young people who cannot afford the camp fee, to provide capital equipment and repairs, to launch new programs, and to cover loan payments.

Shop at Family Christian Stores

Whenever you make a purchase at Family Christian Stores, request Ministry Builders stickers.  Camp LuWiSoMo can use these stickers to purchase Bible study materials, books, music, etc. from Family Christian Stores.
