Outdoor Education

What better way to learn about the great outdoors than spending time at LuWiSoMo this fall, winter, or spring!  Outdoor education is an affordable way to move your classroom outdoors and participate in a variety of activities such as archery, canoeing, hikes, orienteering, cooking, habitats, tree identification, as well as many others.

Outdoor education experiences are available for both private and public schools, September through May, to allow you can customize your lessons to the season.

In addition to being actively involved and having fun in the great outdoors, students:

  • Acquire knowledge and skills
  • Develop environmental awareness
  • Respond to environmental stimuli
  • Develop an emotional tie to the natural and built environment
  • Develop an understanding of how the environment functions and how people interact with it
  • Develop a philosophy about the environment and our place and responsibility in it

While you enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings of LuWiSoMo your group can stay in either of our wonderful accommodations – our 16 room Retreat Center or our 12 person Log Cabins (seasonal).

Contact us to customize an outdoor education experience to meet your group’s specific needs.

“I’m amazed at how much our students enjoy their week of outdoor education at LuWiSoMo every year. The wide spectrum of outdoor activities, meals, nature hikes, campfires, devotions, and amazing staff at Camp LuWiSoMo make the trip an experience the students talk about for years.”
Adam Tanney, 6th Grade Teacher
St. Paul’s Lutheran School, Oconomowoc Wisconsin

“LuWiSoMo, truly feels like home every time my students and I are there. To learn about God at a place where his hand is so evident. Almost everything is right on camp’s grounds, but if it isn’t, it can be found very close by.”
Matt Dehn, 6th Grade Teacher
St. Peter’s Lutheran School, Reedsburg Wisconsin
