All Welcome
Based on the positive feedback, we’re continuing the simpler “day outing” version of LuWiSoMo Family Day, including the family fun run/walk (9:00 am), wagon rides (10:00 am-noon), beach open, boats available, free time to explore/relax, annual chicken dinner (noon until gone), bingo for all ages in the air-conditioned Dining Hall (1:00-3:00 pm), and fun outdoor family focused games & activities for all ages (1:00-4:00 pm). We’ll end our day together with a camp style worship & thanksgiving to God for all He’s done and continues to do with this, His ministry here at LuWiSoMo (4:00-4:45 pm) as we celebrate our 62nd birthday!
For those staying overnight, join the fun at the traditional sing-along campfire Saturday evening at the campground.
Mark your calendar now and help spread the word! Please share the invite with others and ask your congregation to add it to their bulletin or news outlets for all. See links below for printable flyers to share, post, or use as bulletin inserts, along with the image file if you want to format as needed for your bulletin or newsletter.

FAQs
Chicken Dinner
What is the cost?
$15 Adults | $10 Children Age 8 & Under
What payment is accepted?
Cash, or check made out to Camp LuWiSoMo
Can I make an extra donation?
Yes. All proceeds and additional donations benefit God’s ministry at LuWiSoMo.
When & where do I purchase tickets?
Purchase at the event, beginning Saturday at 11:00 am. Serving begins at Noon.
Family Fun Run/Walk
Do I need to register in advance?
No, not this year. Arrive in front of the Retreat Center’s Welcome Center at 9:00 am to sign in. We’ll move through this part quickly so we’re hopefully off and running/walking by 9:20 am.
Can anyone participate?
Yes. All are welcome. Family participation (as a family/extended family) is encouraged – walking, running, pushing a stroller, roller skating… it doesn’t matter. It is all for fun!
Is there a cost?
There is no cost to participate. Instead, each participating family or individual is asked to make a donation to God’s Ministry at LuWiSoMo. All event costs have been donated, so 100% of your gift goes straight to God’s ministry at LuWiSoMo. Make checks payable to Camp LuWiSoMo. If you’re unable to make a donation, that is OK, you’re still most welcome to participate.
What if I or my family can’t make it the whole distance?
No problem. Participate for a much as you can or want. Again, it is all for fun together and to help raise funds for God’s ministry at LuWiSoMo.
What is the route? Where does it end and where do I park?
Parking is available across from the Retreat Center. The fun run/walk starts and ends outside the Welcome Center. There will be refreshments and celebration outside the Welcome Center as the runners/walkers finish. Prizes will be awarded once everyone is back. Route maps will be available when you sign in. In general the 5K route is out to the Campground, around to Kusel Lake County Park, and then back to the Welcome Center. There will be a shorter route for the walk – about a mile – or walk the full 5K if you want.
Waterfront / Boat Use
Will the waterfront be open for swimming?
Yes, the waterfront is open from 9:30 am – 3:45 pm. It will be closed during Worship at 4:00 pm. It will then open again after Worship until 7:30 pm.
Will I be able to use the canoes or kayaks?
For LuWiSoMo Family Day the canoes and kayaks are available for use from 9:30 am – 3:45 pm and there is no cost. Use is limited to a 1/2 hour so all who want can get a turn. See our Waterfront Staff at the Boat House if you want to use a boat.
Can I drive down and park at the beach?
Parking is not allowed down at the waterfront. Park in the new large lot behind the Chapel. If you need to drive down to drop off or pick up a family member you can, but you must immediately turn around and drive back to park in the lot. If you drive down, please go slowly and take care of pedestrians. They have the right of way and may not be expecting a vehicle. Thank you.
